Marktplaats use suggests strong economy

Visitors of Marktplaats.nl show a growing interest in more expensive merchandise. The site noticed and increase in sales in the car, motorcycle, and boat section. 'It's clearly visible the economy is on the rise again,' said CEO Olivier van Duijn of the online marketplace. January 2014 shows a better performance than January 2013, with a 20 percent increase in "for sale" ads and responses in car ads. The demand for motorcycles rose with 25 percent and for boats 36 percent. The rise continues in February, according to Van Duijn.
