Arrest in case fatal burglary Zwolle

Police arrested a 23-year-old Enschede man in his home, Monday, on suspicion of manslaughter. The man burglarized a home in Zwolle last month, resulting in the death of the 72-year-old resident. Upon coming home on the evening of January 31, the victim was roughly pushed aside by the burglar who was leaving her house as she was trying to go in.

The woman sustained severe brain damage, resulting in her death the next day. The case was highlighted in "Opsporing Verzocht." Thirty tips, in combination with forensic evidence led to the arrest of the suspect. The fatal burglary triggered a neighborhood watch, which is supported by the police as long as they stay in close contact with the police. The neighborhood has been plagued with burglaries lately.
