Cartoon competition highlights 112
The Ministry of Security and Justice will start a cartoon competition on the European day of 112, because only half of the Dutch know they can also call 112 in many other European countries in case of an emergency. It's important that everyone is aware that 112 is available in almost all of Europe so no precious time is wasted when every second counts.
Comic book artist, Hein de Kort, drew a cartoon that clearly shows that 112 is also available in other European countries. The ministry of Security and Justice invites people to come up with a funny, matching phrase. The artist will incorporate the three funniest phrases in the comic strip. The Ministry will use the strips to draw attention to 112. The winners will each receive a signed copy of their comic strip. 1-1-2 is European emergency number, which can be called in case of an accident with injured, in case of fire, or by witnesses of a crime, when every second counts. It is free to call and available in all member countries of the European Union. Instructions on how to take part in the competition are available on the Facebook page of the Ministry of Security and Justice.
