Amsterdam builds hotel for Chinese
Amsterdam will get a hotel that specifically tailors to the needs of Chinese tourists. Construction of the hotel in the Business Park in Osdorp will start in February. The hotel will focus on Chinese tourists who visit Amsterdam on their travels through Europe, according to Rinke van der Veen of Business Park Amsterdam Osdorp.
The hotel, an initiative of Chinese entrepreneurs, will have a three-star-status with 153 rooms.
The choice of Nieuw-West as the site for the new hotel is a logical one, according to ward chairman, Achmed Baâdoud. 'With the arrival of Chinese tourists and entrepreneurs in Amsterdam, a hotel that focuses on this new market is a necessity.' 'The first step to the "gateway to China," as Baâdoud refers to the project, 'will also create more employment in Nieuw-West.'
