Dutch king, queen, Rutte to attend Sochi Olympics

King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and sports minister Edith Schippers will represent the Netherlands in Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia. Sochi 2014 - Mascots / Olympic.org In a weekly press conference after the cabinet meeting, Rutte said “we do not support a boycott and will represent the Netherlands in Sochi games. We think it is better to engage in dialogue.” The games will be held in February in Russian city of Sochi, Volkskrant reported. Many countries, including Germany, France, Belgium, Britain and the United States, have decided not to attend the games in protest of a Russia’s law that bans propaganda of nontraditional sexual relationships.
