Amsterdam Light Festival Draws 300k

300,000 people have visited the Amsterdam Light Festival to date, the organizers said Monday. The festival kicked off on December 6, with some works of art delayed due to a heavy storm. About 25 different visual effects, projections, lighting installations and sculptures have been placed at various points around the city. The artwork is split up into a "Boat Route," which play heavily on the city's waterways, and a "Walking Route," which even includes special lighting in the tunnel through the Rijksmuseum. The most visited part of the festival, organizers say, is the area around the Amstel River and along the canals in centrum. They also say a trail in the Plantagebuurt has been rather popular.
