Windmills in the Netherlands not fire safe

The 1900 windmills in the Netherlands are not sufficiently protected against fire. And in case of fire the fire department is not always able to assist. This was reported by radio station BNR Wednesday, based on the statements of experts. A fire due to overheating or short circuit would be fueled by an abundance of inflammable materials in the form of oil and lubricants. This allows the fire to spread more rapidly, according to fire safety expert Frank Butterman. Last Tuesday two mechanics died when a fire started in the roof of a windmill in Ooltgensplaat.
