Netherlands May Host 2015 Tour de France in 2015

The Netherlands is likely to host the Tour de France in 2015, the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad reported. The city of Utrecht is interested in hosting the start of the Tour. The city government has already committed €5 million in public funds, and plans to secure an additional €5 million from private donors to cover the Tour’s starting fee, the newspaper reported. Tour de France / Letour.fr City officials would fly to Paris this week to meet with representatives from ASO, the parent company of the Tour. If city gets approval, it would be the fifth time a Dutch city has hosted the start of the Tour, according to the report.
