New Wind Farm to Generate Electricity For 150,000 Households

Vestas recently announced that it will supply 43 offshore turbines for a wind project on off the coast of the Netherlands. The wind facility will generate green electricity for 150,000 households. The Eneco Luchterduinen offshore wind farm will be located 23 kilometres off the coast between the cities of Zandvoort and Noordwijk. It is proposed by Eneco and Mitsubishi Corp., Vestas said in a statement. Netherlands wind energy - Vestas

The wind facility includes a total of 43, V112-3.0 megawatt (MW) wind turbines will generate 129 MW of energy.

Under the contact, Vestas will be responsible for supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines. The company also signed a 15-year full-scope AOM 5000 service and maintenance agreement with the project’s owners. Construction will begin in summer 2014 and will be completed in 2015.
