Contaminated fruit juice Wicky recalled

The NVWA (Dutch food and consumer product safety authority) warns against Wicky-drink packets with a bad taste. The fruit lemonade in the raspberry variant smells and tastes nasty and caused queasiness. The NVWA received many complaints about the juice. The nasty taste is caused by the Alicyclobacillus bacterium that naturally exists on the fruit. It is not harmful, but gives the fruit drink a taste reminiscent of cleanser. The authority advises against drinking the lemonade. Wicky is a popular drink among children. The packages will be taken off the market and destroyed by the manufacturer.
