NL-Bound Ecstasy Precursor Confiscated

On Thursday, Thai authorities from the Office of the Narcotics Control Board were able to seize 12 tons of precursor material for Ecstasy pills in Bangkok, ready to be sold in the Netherlands. Thai narcotics suppression police took away 671 barrels of safrole. A smuggling ring was preparing the phenylpropene to be exported to Rotterdam. The 12 tons of oil may be processed into 86 million Ecstasy pills. The oils were put in vegetable oil containers as cover-up. Photo by Eden Politte/flickr
