Solar-Powered Vehicle

A group of students from Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands have built the world's first solar-powered car that can accommodate a family, theverge reports. Nuon Solar Team/flickr The team named the invention as “Stella” and launched it on July 4. They are planning to race the solar auto in the Australian outback at the World Solar Challenge. Stella aims to promote construction of convenient, work-friendly solar cars. The solar power requires charging, despite using solar energy. The group added some smart upgrades like a touch screen for the controls and the expansion or contraction of the steering wheel to alert the driver of its speed.
