Fire in oldest hotel

Firefighters worked throughout the night battling a blaze at the landmark Dutch hotel De Draak, according to Nu.nl. No injuries were reported at the Bergen op Zoom location, in the south of the country.

Investigators are still determining the cause of the blaze. First responders believe it began in the sauna, stated the website.

The hotel, comprised of four interconnected buildings, has a capacity of about thirty guests. Those at the hotel were safely evacuated, and have been placed in another residence nearby. The fire department also evacuated 15 homes and the adjacent City Hall.

The grand hotel in Bergen op Zoom has existed since 1500, and is said to be the oldest in the country. The hotels' buildings have existed since the 14th century.

Extent of damage to the landmark has not been determined.
