The investigation into the MH17 disaster is in a difficult phase and far from over, the Public Prosecutor wrote in a digital magazine meant to keep the victims' relatives informed about what is happening in the MH17 file. The investigators are having trouble getting data from the Ukrainian secret service and cooperation with Russia remains difficult, the Prosecutor wrote on Monday, RTL Nieuws reports.

The investigation is now in its "most difficult phase", the Prosecutor wrote. "Booking progress at this stage is much more difficult."

The OG3NE sisters  Lisa, Shelly and Amy are somewhat disappointed that they placed 11th in the Eurovision Song Contest. "We did our best and hope that we made the Netherlands proud", Lisa said to AD after the finals in Kiev on Saturday. "But we did expect a higher position." The three Dutch women were met by cheering fans when they landed on Schiphol airport on Sunday afternoon.

Dutch singers O3GNE made it through to the finals of the Eurovision Song Contest. They will perform sixth in the finals in Kiev, Ukraine on Saturday. Their position was determined by a lottery after the second semi-final on Thursday, NU.nl reports.

Nearly three years after the MH17 disaster, relatives of the victims are looking into possibilities of suing the Ukraine for not closing its airspace while it was clearly not safe. By failing to close the airspace, the Ukraine is complicit in their loved ones' death, according to the relatives. They also hope that a conviction against the country would urge uther countries to close their airspace in unsafe situations, RTL Nieuws reports.

The Ukraine and Russia are facing off in a lawsuit filed by the Ukraine at the international Court of Justice in The Hague from today. Kiev wants the ICJ to condemn "Russian aggression" and order the country to pay compensation for all "fatal events", including the downing of flight MH17 in 2014, AD reports.

Prime Minister Mark Rutte got support from a majority in the lower house of Dutch parliament for amendments he wants to add to the association agreement between the European Union and Ukraine so that the Netherlands can ratify it. In the Tweede Kamer on Tuesday the VVD, PvdA, D66 and GroenLinks supported his solution, NOS reports.

There is no evidence that there are still human remains on the site where flight MH17 crashed in eastern Ukraine in 2014, Minister Stef Blok of Security and Justice said on Thursday. His Ministry studies all photos and statements made by Dutch journalist Michel Spekkers, who brought back a piece of bone and other items found at the crash site in January. The bone fragment belonged to one of the MH17 victims.

A Ukrainian salvage service is planning another mission to search for and recover both MH17 wreckage and victims' belongings, the chairman of a local village council said to BNR. Natalja Volosjina, in charge of the village council of Petropavlovka, believes it will be safe enough for another salvage mission after the winter, and she hopes that a team from the Netherlands will also take part.

Relatives of the victims of the flight MH17 disaster want the Public Prosecutor to launch another investigation at the crash site in eastern Ukraine,the Volkskrant reports. This follows Dutch journalist Michel Spekkers finding a piece of bone at the site where the Malaysia Airlines flight crashed.

The Dutch police seized a number of MH17 related items, including possible human remains, from freelance reporter Michel Spekkers at Schiphol airport on Saturday night. The reporter was returning from a trip to the Ukraine, where he visited the MH17 crash site, news wire AFP reports.

In a statement on Sunday, the Public Prosecutor said that "various bags with metal parts and an object which my be human remains" will be examined as soon as possible. The Prosecutor also said that Spekkers "refused to hand over photographic and film material from the crash site".

The European Summit in Brussels today is expected to be a tense one. One of the main items on the agenda is the fact that the Netherlands still has not ratified the association agreement with the Ukraine, the only EU country not to do so. Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte will try get his fellow EU leaders to accept a set of amendments to the deal, with which he hopes he can convince Dutch parliament to ratify the agreement.

The court in Amsterdam ruled on Wednesday that the Allard Pierson Museum in the city must return treasures from four Crimea museums to the Ukraine. The lawsuit was filed by the four Crimea museums as well as the state of Ukraine, AT5 reports.

The Crimea museums loaned hundreds of artifacts to the Allard Pierson Museum in Amsterdam in 2014 for an exhibition titled Crimea - Gold and secrets of the Black Sea.

Prime Minister Mark Rutte plans to ask the EU leaders to put limits on he association agreement with the Ukraine at a EU summit in Brussels on Thursday, Reuters reports based on information from diplomatic sources.

A Dutch drafted document, which Reuters caught sight off, states that the Netherlands wants to make it clear that this association agreement is not a "stepping stone" for the Ukraine to become a member of the European Union.

The Advisory Council on International Affairs (AIV) called upon Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte to push through ratification of a European Union agreement with the Ukraine. The deal, rejected by Dutch voters in a non-binding referendum, includes policy on energy, economics, labour rights and free travel across borders.

In the first nine months of 2016 Dutch companies exported more to the Ukraine than in the same period last year, according to figures from the European Commission (EC). The total trade between the Netherlands increased by 4 percent to 1.17 billion euros. According to the Commission, this can be attributed to the association agreement between the EU and Ukraine, the trade part of which took effect on January 1st, ANP reports.

According to GeenPeil, these parties are ignoring the results of the referendum, NU.nl reports.

The government needs more time to find a solution on what to do about the problems resulting after the Netherlands voted against ratifying an association agreement between the European Union and Ukraine, Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Minister Bert Koenders of Foreign Affairs wrote to parliament on Monday, NU.nl reports.

This letter comes just a day before the deadline parliament set the government for making a decision. The Ministers call it "in the national interest" that more time is taken to find a suitable solution.

The Dutch government is running out of time for finding a solution on what to do about ratifying the associatioin agreement between the European Union and Ukraine. The deadline is November 1st. And it doesn't seem likely that a decision will be made on Friday, NU.nl reports.

"Today and in the coming days we are considerably going to talk about it", Minsiter Bert Koenders said, according to NU. "We still have a few days. We'll try to find a solution to the last moment."

Prime Minister Mark Rutte got little support from the European leaders on his plan on how to deal with the Netherlands voting no in a referendum on an association agreement between the EU and Ukraine. His suggestion for a legally binding statement that will put the no-voters' concerns at ease, got a lukewarm reception at best, the Volkskrant reports.

Relatives and friends of people who died in flight MH17 are generally satisfied with the investigation results the Joint Investigation Team revealed on Wednesday. The JIT revealed that flight MH17 was shot down by a BUK missile transported from Russia to a pro-Russian separatist controlled field and then back to Russia again.
