Dry start gives way to rain, wind gusts and 17–20°C highs this weekend in Netherlands

Saturday morning will begin dry under widespread cloud cover across the Netherlands, with occasional sunshine breaking through, especially in Noord-Holland and in the east. Along the coast, winds are expected to remain strong and gusty, producing breezy beach conditions. UV levels are anticipated to rise to 6 in the early afternoon, posing a risk of sunburn, despite this.

By early Sunday evening, sunshine is expected to increase further across many areas, and winds are expected to ease, becoming light to moderate inland and moderate along the coast. Overnight into Monday, skies will feature clear intervals and patches of high cloud, with lows again between 11 and 15 degrees.

Temperatures are expected to rise to 20 to 22 degrees across most regions, with local highs up to 23 degrees in the southeast, typical for the season. Winds will remain moderate from the south.

Later on Monday afternoon and into the evening, showers are expected to move in from the west, with winds shifting to the southwest and temperatures dropping by several degrees.

After that, the pattern is expected to remain unsettled, with daily showers and occasional sunshine. Afternoon temperatures will hold between 16 and 19 degrees, on the cool side for June, under a predominantly moderate southwesterly flow.
