Heemskerk minor in custody after major fireworks seizure
A minor in Heemskerk was arrested earlier this week after authorities found heavy fireworks and drugs in his possession, according to the police report. This occurred during a police check in the Noord-Holland town on Tuesday. The discovery also led to a search of the boy’s home.
Police discovered 127 pieces of heavy fireworks and other substances that could be used to produce explosives at the boy’s home. They also found what they described as “a significant amount of cash for a minor,” though the exact amount was not revealed.
Authorities confiscated the fireworks and money, and the investigation into their source and potential accomplices is continuing. Authorities have not revealed the minor’s age. He is still being held in custody.
Possessing heavy fireworks without a permit is prohibited in the Netherlands.
