Fog and overcast conditions to dominate weekend weather in the Netherlands

Saturday morning begins mostly cloudy across the Netherlands, with gray skies widespread and fog or low cloud cover reducing visibility in several areas, weeronline reports. Temperatures range from 3 to 6 degrees, with cool conditions lingering.

By Saturday afternoon, conditions are likely to remain largely overcast and dry. Temperatures are likely to rise to about 8 or 9 degrees. Winds can increase along the coast, blowing moderate to strong from the south to southwest and making it feel colder.

Saturday evening is expected to stay cloudy, with light drizzle possible in the northwest, while most other areas are expected to remain dry. After sunset, temperatures will begin to fall steadily.

During the night into Sunday, skies are likely to remain overcast, and fog might develop more widely inland, causing visibility to drop in many areas. Overnight lows are expected to fall to between 1 and 3 degrees in the coldest spots, while coastal regions will stay milder and cloudy, with temperatures near 7 degrees. Sunday morning is expected to remain gray and foggy in several places, with temperatures between 3 and 6 degrees.

Sunday afternoon will remain mostly cloudy and dry across the Netherlands, with highs reaching about 8 to 9 degrees. Sunday evening will stay overcast, with drizzle possible in the northwest, while most other areas will remain predominantly dry.

Overnight into Monday, skies will reportedly gradually clear from the southeast. Temperatures will drop to between 1 and 3 degrees inland, while coastal areas will remain cloudy and milder, with lows near 7 degrees.

Monday is expected to bring a relatively sunny and mild day to much of the country. Sunshine will spread from the southeast, though cloud cover may linger along the coast. Temperatures will rise to around 10 degrees, staying closer to 7 or 8 degrees under persistent clouds. Winds will be moderate inland and fairly strong along the coast.

After Monday, cloud cover is expected to increase again on Tuesday and Wednesday, though there will still be occasional sunny breaks. Conditions will remain predominantly dry, with isolated light showers possible.

Later in the week, the chance of rain will rise. Temperatures are forecast to remain mild, with daytime highs near 10 degrees and relatively mild nights.
