Tech firm Tekpon acquires Amsterdam-based TNW tech news platform from Financial Times
Tekpon has acquired TNW (The Next Web), the Amsterdam-based media and events brand covering the European technology ecosystem, from the Financial Times. The acquisition marks Tekpon’s largest investment in media and events to date, TNW reports.
Tekpon is a technology company founded in Bucharest, Romania, focused on SaaS (software as a service) and artificial intelligence. TNW, or The Next Web, is one of Europe’s most respected technology media and event brands. Based in Amsterdam, TNW has spent nearly twenty years reporting on the European technology and startup scene and organizing conferences, workshops, and networking events that bring together startups, scale-ups, investors, and executives from the tech and innovation sector.
TNW’s editorial standards and brand identity will reportedly remain intact, while its events and digital platforms will be integrated into Tekpon’s broader strategy.
The Financial Times will retain ownership of TNW Spaces in Amsterdam, a tech hub providing private offices and coworking spaces for startups, scale-ups, and innovators.
Alexandru Stan, founder and CEO of Tekpon, said, “TNW is one of Europe’s most respected technology brands. Its legacy, its community, and its influence have shaped the European tech scene for nearly twenty years. This acquisition accelerates our mission to connect the global SaaS and AI ecosystem and supports Europe’s position in the next decade of innovation.”
Tekpon has announced plans for 2026 to expand TNW-branded initiatives, including an enlarged TNW Conference, new program tracks in SaaS and AI, cross-regional executive programs, and specialized gatherings for founders, executives, and investors.
