Organization behind huge Gaza protest in The Hague announce plans for new demonstration

The organization behind the previous huge Red Line demonstration is calling on Dutch people to demonstrate again. On June 15, Oxfam Novib, PAX, Amnesty International, Save the Children, and Doctors Without Borders want to demonstrate in The Hague to try to force sanctions against Israel and stop the genocide in Gaza, the aid and human rights organizations stated.

According to the organizers, over 100,000 people dressed in red, which was meant to symbolically illustrate a red line, came to the demonstration on May 18, which the organization claims makes it the largest demonstration in the Netherlands in the last 20 years. “The majority were visible. Nobody could miss us. And yet it is still quiet from the Cabinet,” the organization said.

“We will not accept this. Caretaker or not- we demand concrete action now,” and for this reason, Prime Minister Dick Schoof has been invited for a conversation at the Malieveld.

“Gaza cannot wait, and the Netherlands has a duty, as a signee of the genocide treaty, to do everything in its power to stop the genocide,” the organizers stated.
