Netherlands 1st female-aimed strip club with only male strippers opens in Rotterdam

The Netherlands' first strip club with only male strippers, aimed specifically at women, opened in Rotterdam on Thursday evening. The luxurious Club BonTon aims to give women “a stylish and exciting experience,” owner Lotte van Alberg told NOS Radio 1 Journaal.

Van Alberg aimed to create something out of the ordinary with her club on the Oostplein, she told the broadcaster. She recruited professional dancers from all over the world, men who are specifically good at dancing and have been trained to strip.

The dancers strip down to their boxer shorts, and consent is key in BonTon. Dancers can offer customers a lap dance, but will not push the matter if they refuse.

Van Alberg, who also runs the BonTon strip club in Amsterdam, wanted to create a place where women can feel special. “Women don’t want a standard lap dance or forced spectacle,” she told OPEN Rotterdam back in February. “They want a stylish experience that feeds their fantasy. All senses are stimulated. Think of scented candles, luxurious furnishings, and surprising flavors.”

“My goal is to create a place where you feel special, where you relax and enjoy an evening that revolves around refinement and seduction,” she said.
