VodafoneZiggo to cut 400 jobs in the Netherlands due to disappointing turnover results
Around 400 employees in all sectors of VodafoneZiggo are going to lose their jobs. This was confirmed by a spokesperson for the company after it had initially been reported by nu.nl. Around half of the 400 people will be fired, with the other half losing their jobs due to the expiration of their contract or through retirement.
“We realize that this will have a big impact on our employees, and we are making every effort possible to support all the people involved in a careful, respectful, and transparent way.” The company emphasized that the reorganization is yet to be ratified by the works council.
It was reported last week that VodafoneZiggo’s turnover and profits dropped again in the last quarter, as did the number of customers by 40,000 people. The company lost around 100,000 customers with internet subscriptions in 2024. To improve results, the telecom company has developed a new strategic plan.
The reduction in staff is a part of that strategic plan. The company has also reduced the number of different internet subscription packages and the prices of those.
