Man is taken hostage before his mother's home is robbed in Amsterdam; one arrest made
A man was taken hostage by four suspects in Amsterdam-Zuid during the evening hours of Friday, February 14, leading into Saturday. This came before the victim’s mother was robbed in her home during the same evening. Police believe that these were targeted actions. One suspect has been arrested in connection with the incidents.
The initial kidnapping occurred at 1:30 a.m. on the Willem Pastoorstraat. The victim was abducted and taken hostage while sitting in his car. A robbery took place shortly after this in the mother of the victim’s house on the Pradolaan in Amsterdam-West.
One arrest has been made thus far. An 18-year-old woman from Amsterdam was arrested on Sunday, February 16. The investigation has proved that the home invasion was committed by two people who were dressed in black clothing.
Police are still searching for the identities of the four suspects. They added that two of the suspects remained in the car and two others robbed the mother's home. Both of the victim's were gagged. They are asking for any eyewitnesses to come forward.
