Woman remains jailed for claiming to have explosives inside police station
The woman who was arrested for going into a police station and saying that she had explosives with her in Utrecht will remain in custody for another 14 days, RTV Utrecht reported. The incident led to the Paardenveld police station being closed for several hours.
The incident took place at 1:55 p.m. last Friday. The woman walked into the station in the city center and barricaded herself in. She also made several comments, which led to police arresting her. Police would not repeat what the woman said.
She had two objects with her while inside the station. These objects were tested for explosives, but this turned out not to be the case. The police station was evacuated as a result of the incident. The woman was arrested outside of the station.
A decision will be made by the examining magistrate within the next 14 days as to whether the woman has to spend longer in pre-trial detention.
