Police, family search for missing woman last seen in Gouda
Authorities and the family of 38-year-old Marjolein are increasingly concerned about her welfare after she disappeared last Thursday. The woman was last seen at Gouda station and has not been heard from since.
"We are worried about her well-being," police said in a statement, urging the public to assist in the search. Investigators have released photos of Marjolein, including an image captured at the station in Gouda, in hopes of gathering leads.
According to police, Marjolein boarded a train from Gouda to Rotterdam-Noord, where she reportedly planned to make a purchase on Noordplein. However, she never returned home, and her whereabouts remain unknown.
On Instagram, her brother Marcel wrote, "I don’t know where you are or what’s going on, but if you’re reading this, please let me know in any way you can. As brother and sister, we’ve been through so much in life together, and no matter what problems you’re facing or what’s going through your mind right now, please come home."
"Your sweet daughter Esmée, Herjan, your family, your friends, and I need you. I love you so much, and everything will be okay, I promise," he added. He has also said that his sister seemed "very confused" prior to her disappearance.
Authorities continue to investigate the case and encourage anyone with information to contact them immediately.
