Big screen in Amersfoort to watch Olympics together

A large screen will be placed on a square in the center of Amersfoort on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, where people can watch the Olympic Games together. The competitions can be seen every day from 12 p.m to 11 p.m. on the Lieve Vrouwekerkhof.

Amersfoort is the birthplace of athlete Femke Bol. If she qualifies, she will run the final of the 400-metre hurdles on Thursday evening. The municipality of Utrecht reported that the competition can also be watched on the screen. "When we watch the finals together, the square is not called 'the Femke Bolplein' for nothing," said sports alderman Ben van Koningsveld.

Bol has already won a gold medal at this edition of the Olympics when she led the mixed relay team to gold in the 400 meters in Paris.
