Leiden medical students to get lessons on AI

Medical students in Leiden will be given Artificial Intelligence (AI) lessons in the first years of their studies. This will allow them to learn how to use the technology when they become doctors later in life.

According to the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), this will be the first medical course in the Netherlands to include AI and technology in the curriculum.

The academic hospital claims that technology could help doctors focus on their most important work. "For example, think of automatically summarizing conversations or predicting which patients will go from the Emergency Department to the Acute Admission."
