The accident was reported at around 11 a.m. on Sunday. As a result, several emergency services were alerted, including several ambulances. The police reported that the area around the accident was cordoned off with tape. Because many people witnessed the tragic accident, victim support is available for them.

A spokesperson for the Municipal Transport Company (GVB) announced that aftercare is also being offered for the tram driver. Tram traffic is being temporarily diverted due to the accident. As a result, the Nieuwezijds Kolk and Dam stops are skipped by all trams, AD reports. Travelers are advised to consult the GVB website or app.
