Police arrest man for alleged sexual misconduct of care home residents

The police arrested a 22-year-old man on Tuesday for allegations of sexually transgressive behavior towards clients at a residential care institution in Breda. The healthcare institution has filed charges against an employee who allegedly committed sexual misconduct with several residents, the police said.

The man was arrested after the report was filed. “Due to the privacy of the people involved, we will not be commentating on the investigation at this time,” police said this week.

Omroep Brabant reported that the incident occurred at the Elisabeth care center. The broadcaster reported that the sexual incidents happened at the Corenschup section, where the residents are older adults who have dementia.

A spokesperson for healthcare company Surplus confirmed this to Omroep Brabant. “We are very shocked by this,” Surplus responded.

What exactly happened is unclear.
