Dutch King's visit Munster cancelled over negative German travel advice

King Willem-Alexander's planned visit to Munster in Germany on September 29 has been canceled. This has to do with Germany designating Noord- and Zuid-Holland as risk areas due to increasing Covid-19 infections, government information service RVD announced.

According to the RVD, the decision to cancel the King's visit to Munster was made in consultation with the German authorities. The visit, accompanied by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, was to focus on Dutch-German cooperation.

Germany declared the provinces of Noord- and Zuid-Holland risk areas on September 16, and added Utrecht on September 23. People traveling to Germany from a risk area may be subject to a mandatory Covid-19 test and mandatory quarantine, depending on which state they are visiting.
