Dutch man killed in drive-by shooting in Suriname: report

A man and a woman were killed in a drive-by shooting in the Surinamese capital of Paramaribo on Sunday evening. The male victim is Dutch, the Telegraaf reports based on information in Surinamese media.

The shooting happened on Wilhelminastraat, near a gas station. A photo in the Telegraaf's possession shows the man's lifeless body lying on the back of a pickup truck. The woman's body is close to the truck on the ground. Both victims have bullet wounds.

The shooting has all the characteristics of an assassination, according to the newspaper. The Surinamese police are investigating.
