Hand grenade explodes at Eindhoven sisha lounge

A hand grenade exploded at sisha lounge Down Town on Leenderweg in Eindhoven during the early hours of Saturday morning. The sisha lounge was closed at the time and no one was hurt, though the building sustained some damage, Eindhovens Dagblad reports.

Eindhoven mayor John Jorritsma will meet with the police and Public Prosecutor on Monday to discuss whether the sisha lounge should be closed after the explosion.

The hand grenade went off just after 3:00 a.m. on Saturday. Local residents called the police, thinking that someone had thrown a firework into an underground container, they said to the newspaper. The owner of the sisha lounge only discovered the damage to the building when he went to open on Saturday afternoon. The police are investigating.

The sisha lounge owner has no idea who could be behind the explosion. "In the 4.5 years I've been here I've never had any problems. I've never had to call the police for any reason", he said to the newspaper.
