Utrecht student assoc. suspends member for racist, sexist email

Utrecht student association Unitas S.R. suspended one of its members after he sent an email full of "unnecessarily offensive, racist and sexist comments" within the association, the Volkskrant reports.

The email was an invite to a party on Tuesday afternoon. According to the newspaper, the mail encouraged members to drink as much as "the victims at the earthquake in Lombok". It also mentioned the young Thai football team who was stuck in a cave in July, calling them "yellow teenage wankers", according to the newspaper.

The Volkskrant received the email through PubLeaks, a platform where anonymous information can be shared with the press. Unitas is investigating, according to the newspaper.
