Missing Epe woman, 44, found dead in Leiden
A woman found dead in a ditch in Leiden two weeks ago was identified as a 44-year-old woman from Epe. She had been missing for some time, the Public Prosecutor said on Tuesday. She was identified based on a DNA investigation, the Prosecutor said.
The woman's body was found in a ditch along Stevenshofdreef on July 30th. Two men were arrested, including the woman's boyfriend, a 44-year-old man from Leiden. According to the Prosecutor, the boyfriend confessed. He is facing charges of manslaughter and disposing of the body. The man will appear in court on Wednesday, where a judge will decide whether or not to extend his pre-trial custody.
The second suspect, a 50-year-old man from Leiden, was released from custody on Monday, but is still a suspect. He notified the police about the woman's body on July 30th. He is suspected of helping the other suspect dispose of the body.
