Tilburg cinema evacuated over bomb threat

The police evacuated multiple cinemas of the Euroscoop in Tilburg on Monday evening after a witness reported seeing a suspicious package at a car parked in the adjacent parking garage. The bomb threat later turned out to be a false alarm, Omroep Brabant reports.

The cinema was evacuated at around 11:45 p.m. The suspicious package was found behind a parked car, and the police's explosive experts were sent in to investigate. During the investigation, movie watchers were kept away from the parking garage.

The police told Omroep Brabant that the owner of the car in question was located and that he had a "plausible story" about the car and the package. After the explosives experts also concluded that nothing dangerous was going on, the area was released.
