PM Rutte discusses kidnapped Insiya with Indian counterpart

Prime Minister Mark Rutte discussed the abduction of Amsterdam girl Insiya Hemani on a "high level" in India on Thursday, a spokesperson for the Prime Minister said. On Thursday Rutte met with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi, ANP reorts.

Rutte would make no further comments about the case. "That is not in the interest of finding a solution", his spokesperson said to the news wire.

Insiya was abducted from her grandmother's Amsterdam flat in September 2016. She was only 2 years old at the time. Since then she's been with her father Shehzad Hemani in India.

Rutte was on a trade mission to India. He is returning early to attend the Council of Ministers on Friday, to discuss the update on the stance of the MH17 investigation the Joint Investigation Team gave on Thursday.
