Body found on Scheveningen beach

A body was found on Scheveningen beach in Den Haag around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday. The identity of the victim is not yet known. The police are investigating, AD reports.

The body was found near the Zuiderstrandtheater parking lot. The police believe the body washed ashore. How the victim died is unclear.

As far as is known, no ships encountered problems in the area recently, according to NOS. On Tuesday however, 54-year-old Pierre Agnes, the director of surfing brand Quicksilver, suffered a shipwreck in the southwest of France. He went fishing near Capbreton. His small fishing boat was later found empty. Despite a long search, Agnes has not been found.
