KLM works council under fire from Air France-KLM top
The leaders of Air France-KLM are not happy with KLM works council chairman Jan-Willem van Dijk. According to the them, he repeatedly made "factually wrong" statements in the media about new Air France subsidiary Joon over the past week, Financieele Dagblad reports based on a letter from Jerome Nanty - the highest HR manager at Air-France KLM.
The intention for Joon is to restore the balance between Air France and KLM - the Dutch branch grew significantly faster than the French one over the past years. Last week Van Dijk, speaking to Dutch media, raised his doubts about whether Joon will bring about the desired growth and his fears that the subsidiary will harm KLM.
In his letter Nanty wrote that Van Dijk made several public announcements based largely of "inaccurate statements". According to him, KLM's growth will not be hampered by Joon, there will be no unprofitable growth and no KLM routes or planes will be given to Air France.
Van Dijk refused to comment on the letter to FD. "I'm discussing this internally with Mr. Nanty", he said to the newspaper.
