Dutch police: No evidence of crime committed around Belgian kickboxer's death

There is no evidence that Belgian kickboxer Marc de Bonte was killed in any form of crime, the Dutch police concluded. The investigation into the 26-year-old Belgian's death is therefore now closed, AD reports.

De Bonte's remains were found on November 24th last year in the Wilhelmina Canal in Oirschot. He went missing on November 5th after leaving a party at his gym to go to a friend in Turnhout. A message was sent to his girlfriend in Best, telling her that he was on his way to her. He never arrived.

His car was later found empty near the Wilhelmina Canal in Best.

De Bonte's body has already been released and cremated.
