Missing Deventer girl found safe

Missing 11-year-old Nikkie from Deventer has been found. She was reunited with mother around 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at a police station. She is in good health, mother Cindy said to the Telegraaf.

"I never want to go through something like this again. The whole night I was sleeplessly, desperately and hopelessly thinking about what could have happened. Something like that you don't wish on anyone. What a miserable night this was", Cindy said to the Telegraaf shortly after hearing from the police that her daughter is safe.

Nikkie was missing since 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, when she did not come home from playing outside. The track and trace system on her phone showed that she was in the Colmschat shopping center, but the signal disappeared 15 minutes later. Around midnight her family decided to contact the police and put a post on Facebook, which was shared over 25 thousand times.

What exactly happened to the girl is unclear. The police only say that she has been found. Officers are currently talking to her about what happened.
