Gay men drugged, robbed on chat app dates find justice in Amsterdam

A 36-year-old man was found guilty of drugging then robbing five men while going out on dates with them in Amsterdam. Fanir M. was sentenced to 30 months in prison by the Amsterdam court, Het Parool reports.

According to the Public Prosecutor, M. made dates with men throughout Amsterdam using the gay chat app Bullchat - a service focused on sexual contact. This happened in October and November last year.

During these meetings he drugged men in their own homes. While they were unwell, M. went through their homes and helped himself to their belongings. He stole, among other things, Macbooks, phones, jewelry and clothing.

In a similar case a 43-year-old man was sentenced to 10 years in prison last year, for drugging then robbing three gay men while on dates with them, also in Amsterdam. His sentence was much higher because one of his victims died.
