Amsterdam Stop Trump & Wilders rally set for U.S. inaugeration day

A "Stop Trump and Wilders" rally is being organized in Amsterdam for Friday, January 20th - the day on which Donald Trump is set to be inaugurated as president of the United States. The rally is to "show solidarity with activists in the U.S. an to prevent extreme-right becoming the biggest in the Netherlands", according to the event's Facebook page.

The rally will be held at the American Consulate on the Museumplein in Amsterdam from 7:00 p.m. on January 20th. The organizers call on as "many people and groups as possible" to join the rally: "feminists, anti-racists, climate activists, pro LGBT movement, asylum seekers, socialists, anarchists, trade unionists etc."

So fare 1.2 thousand people showed interest in attending the rally.

PVV Geert Wilders is a very vocal supporter of Donald Trump and the policies he stands for. The leader of the Neterlands far-right party was beside himself with joy when Trump won the United States election. Left-wing parties faced Trump's victory with shock and despair.
