Due to an administrative error by a Tax Service employee, two women paid 15 million euros two little on their inheritance tax, Het Parool reports. According to the newspaper, the two Noord-Holland women inherited 37 million euros each. It seems that an employee confused a full stop and a comma, registering the inheritance as 37 thousand euros per person. When the error was discovered, the Tax Authorities sent the women a retrospective tax of over 7.5 million euros per person. The women filed a lawsuit against the tax, but lost.
