Few women involved in small business acquisitions

Over the past decade women were only involved in 6 percent of small- and medium business acquisitions, according to the Brookz Overname Barometer. A strikingly low percentage, especially given the fact that 35 percent of SME's have a woman at the helm, BNR reports. According to the broadcaster, there are two main reasons for this - women are both more averse to risk than men and more realistic. They do not overestimate their chance of success. Almost all acquisition consultants on the registers of professional associations for specialists in business transfers are male. Of the 90 such consultants registered, only one is female.
