Court: Pastafarians may not wear colanders in Dutch ID photos

Pastafarians - believers in the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster - are not allowed to wear colanders on their heads while taking the picture for their ID card, the court in Groningen ruled, GIC reports. Dirk Jan Dijkstra, the founder of the Dutch branch of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, is one of the driving forces behind the lawsuit. The Church requires its followers to wear a colander on their heads, which is why they want to be able to do so on their ID photos. According to the court, however, this is not a proven fact. Pastafarians will have to take their ID pictures with their heads uncovered. The Dutch branch of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster currently has tens of thousands of followers. Instead of the ten commandments, like the Christians have, Pastafarians have Eight I'd Really Rather You Didn'ts, ranging from I'd really rather you didn't act like an ass to I'd really rather you didn't tell people I talk to you.
