Limburg man acquitted of forcing asylum seekers into prostitution

The court in Breda acquitted a 26-year-old man suspected of forcing at least one asylum seeker into prostitution. According to the court, there is not enough evidence to prove that the woman, a resident of the asylum center in Gilze, was forced, Omroep Brabant reports. The Public Prosecutor demanded 18 months against the man from the Limburg village of Grathem. According to the Prosecutor, The man used his car as a mobile sex-spot. It was equipped with sex toys, condoms and even whet wipes to clean the car afterwards. During a pre-trial hearing, the prosecutor compared the car to a shoplifter’s bag – fully equipped to commit a crime. One of the man's alleged victims is a Ukrainian woman in her 50's. According to the prosecutor, the suspect arranged clients for her and corresponded with those customers. He then picked her up from the asylum center to take her to the customers he arranged. The Prosecutor also believes that the man regularly took female asylum seeker out to dinner and then had sex with them in exchange for a small fee. He also advertised his victims on the internet and made agreements with customers. But the court ruled that there is not enough evidence that the woman was forced to perform sexual acts and therefore acquitted the man. He was already released two weeks ago.
