Gov’t strips pricey EuroPort Business School’s accreditation

The EuroPort Business School in Rotterdam no longer has accreditation for the bachelor's degree program in International Business and Management Studies. This means that the school also lost its status of a legal higher education institution and can no longer issue degrees, the Ministry of Education announced on Friday. Minister Jet Bussemaker decided to withdraw the school's accreditation on the advise of Dutch-Flemish accreditation organization NVAO. The organization found the school's quality of education insufficient - the examinations and final qualifications are inadequate and there are substantial gaps in study guidance and information provision. The EuroPort Business School must inform its current students about the decision and find a way for them to complete their studies. The school appealed against the decision. In October last year AD reported that the very expensive school is covered in fraudulent activities. Students and a former employee told the newspaper that tests are passed based on bribes to lecturers and enough money means that you'll get your degree, no matter what. The school denied the accusations.
