Heemskerk man seriously injured in fireworks accident

A 23 year old man from Heemskerk was seriously injured in a fireworks accident on Alkmaarseweg in Beverwijk on Christmas day. According to the police, it looks like the man was trying to light a firework and it exploded in his hand right away. He lost a number of fingers on his left hand. The victim was taken to the Red Cross hospital.
