Vtech CEO: Full scale of hack unknown; exposed 125,000 Dutch kids’ details

Vtech, the Chinese toys and gadget company, still does not know who is responsible for the November hack that exposed the names and birth dates of 6.4 million kids, 125 thousand of them Dutch, and 4.9 million adults, 100 thousand of them Dutch. The extent of the damage is also still unclear, CEO Allan Wong said to The Wall Street Journal. He called the attack "sophisticated and well-organized". The company hired in a security firm to investigate the hack and improve security. Vtech also asked all its users to change their passwords. The affected services are still offline. "Certainly there is financial impact to us in this whole incident by not having the service online before Christmas, but our top priority is getting the data secured", Wong said to the newspaper.
