Dutch man stabbed to death in Turkey
A Dutch man was found stabbed to death in Turkey on Wednesday. The victim, Pieter Jan Reijntjes from Schaijk, Brabant, was on holiday in the village of Muhmutlar, where he has a holiday home with his husband Cor Jonkergouw.
Turkish news site turksemedia.nl reports that Reijntjes was found in a banana garden. According to Turkish newspaper Hurriyet, his throat was cut and he had stab wounds on his neck and stomach.
Reijntjies' brother in law Willy Jonkergouw confirmed the death to Omroep Brabant. "Cor heard Wednesday that Pieter Jan has died. He was last seen the night before", he said to the broadcaster. "We are in shock. We are left with many questions and we only know that he died an unnatural death."
