Syrian family dumped on street, found in newspaper’s offices

A Syrian family of 6 that have been dropped off by a German bus driver at the Amsterdam Dockyard, ended up in the main office of newspaper De Telegraaf on Sunday night, the newspaper reported on Monday. According to the newspaper, the man had no idea where he was or where he had to go with his family. The bus driver only told him to go to the police. Rashed A., his very pregnant wife and their five children aged 1, 5, 7, 9 and 10 years, have spent many weeks traveling over ten countries. Rahed and his family were surprised to find themselves getting food and something to drink at the country’s largest newspaper. A photo depicting his youngest child sleeping on a table in winter clothes with the rest of the family hungrily eating around him was published in the newspaper on Monday. Arianne Mantel, the Telegraaf reporter who discovered the family, was reported saying the refugee problem that the Netherlands is experiencing at the moment really hit home for her after seeing the family cold, and shivering.
